Bridges of Spies

ดีใจที่หนังจบออกมาบวกกว่าที่คิด และก็ทำให้คิดถึงสงครามเย็นในฐานะสภาพสังคมและกรอบความคิดที่เป็นมากกว่าเนื้อหาที่ได้เรียนในหนังสือเรียน เรารู้ว่าเกิดการแบ่งแยกทางอุดมการณ์ของขั้วมหาอำนาจอย่างสหรัฐอเมริกา และสหภาพโซเวียต และความตึงเครียดนั้นก็ส่งผลถึงโลกทั้งโลก และถึงแม้จะเรียนเจาะลึกตอนมหาวิทยาลัย แต่เราเด็กเกินไปที่จะเห็นผลลัพธ์ของมันจริง ๆ

หนังสะท้อนความตึงเครียดนั้นออกมาชัดเจน และก็ทำให้ได้ข้อคิดหลายอย่าง ได้เห็นคนดีที่ทำตามหน้าที่ และทำเพราะต้องการทำสิ่งที่ถูกต้อง กับทำให้ตั้งคำถามว่า ถ้าในสมัยนี้ที่สังคมมีบทบาทนำรัฐ การช่วยเหลือเด็กนักศึกษาในเรื่องที่อยู่ผิดที่ผิดเวลาจะกลายเป็นเรื่องเร่งด่วนมากกว่าปล่อยตายไหม? บางทีคำตอบเรื่องนี้ออกจะชัดใน The 33 นะ (ถ้าปล่อยให้ตาย ขณะที่เป็นประเด็นที่ทั้งโลกจับตามองคงจะถูกประนาม)

ปล. สงครามเย็นคงไม่มีผลอะไรกับสังคมสมัยนี้ที่เศรษฐกิจและความก้าวหน้าทางเทคโนโลยีมาแทนที่อุดมการณ์ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งอุดมการณ์ทางการเมือง

Good movies always make me think long and hard long after watching them. And yes, Bridges of Spies is definitely one of them. (Along with Terminator Genisys for this year actually) It has reshaped my thoughts to see the Cold War period as reality of life, not just facts read in textbooks. What can I say? We are somewhat too young to live in and get affected by the era.

I see a good man who is determined to do his job not just readily but perfectly. And when read that he helped President Kennedy negotiate with President Castro after the invasion of Bay of Pigs, I wondered about another scenario that President Kennedy lived and ‘theoretically’ arranged grander and more peaceful, and much earlier peace negotiation with the USSR.

During the time State led Society, it would be easier to ignore a boy or two, but then? In this era, I bet Society will take a matter in its hand .. as we will see it in the 33.
