I was quite surprised to learn that the timeline in the book
has passed so much and that the couple has been together for 3 and a half years
already. Hmm, this book is less cold than the other books, in the sense that I don’t
really see good people being beaten up and killed as much. And for me, it is
heart-lifting to read. This is because in book 3 I don’t really like at all the
result of the situation, and it makes me angry to read about bad guys abducting
and torturing innocent people. I haven’t read much from PB in the last couple
of years, yet it surprises me to remember how distinct her style is. And I plan
to re-read the previous books, including the first novella, very soon.
